Let Me Explain in Detail about Torrent Trackers

Torrent trackers is a server that communicates between two peers to transfer file by using BitTorrent protocol.

Once you have downloaded a .torrent file from the any torrent sites like the pirates bay or kickass torrent and added it in your torrent client software, it will request the file that was downloaded on other PCs. where the PC is called peers. A portion of the file that was download from a peer will be sent to you to download.

Trackers will always keep a complete record of the torrent like the number of leeches, seeds, peers, size, files that are in the torrent, and a number of downloads.

If we add more public or private Torrent tracker, Torrent client communicate with those torrent tracker to increase the speed of the download by updating more addition connection with the peers.

So to increase to downloading speed of week torrent. Internet users will add additional public or privateTorrent tracker  for increasing torrenting speed in torrent software like Utorrent etc.

    Can you take the space before each one out, if I paste this list directly into my client it doesn’t work because they have a space before each link.

      Luke, you need the space between each link. Otherwise, if the space is deleted/removed, the torrent app will not correctly read the link, thus to cause loosing the option to tread the torrent list. The torrent app is designed to negotiate spaces between the links.

      Also, instead of replacing the existing torrent list, copy and paste this new list underneath the last link you see. The author is saving us a lot of time by adding spaces between the links, thus making it easier to add additional links to the existing list that is already running in the torrent app. Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks for this list, I’m using Transmission-QT for Linux Mint and I have been having trouble downloading a video. I added this torrent tracker list to Transmission-QT and it’s downloading pretty darn fast. Now I don’t have to wait a week for it to finish. 😀

      Adding more trackers lets you connect with people who are seeding the SAME torrent file from other websites. By including these trackers I was able to leech from 5 more people. That almost doubled my download speed.

    These lists that I use, they are great and help out a lot for quicker downloads. However, there is an issue that I experience when copying and pasting the list into the tracker list. After the addtional items added to the list, there are many, many items on the list that clump together. For an example, say we copy all the items from the list we created from the list above. Then we initiate a download through utorrent. The torrent connects and the download begins. Cool, but now lets add the addtional items to the tracker list of the particular torrent download. Open the the tracker list either with right-button click the torrent, then select Properties or double click the torrent to open the trackerlist. Once the trackerlist is open, then copy the list above (February 2017 list) and then paste it as an addendom to the existing trackerlist. Then click OK to save the list. All is cool, but not really. Now reopen the tracker list and then examine how the list is posted. Notice there are many, many clusters of tracker lists that had been clumped together. No matter what I did or how the trackerlist was copied into the torrent trackerlist section, reopening the trackerlist displayed clumps of trackerlist together. The rule of thumb is to have all of the items seperated by a space between each tracker. But when coping a list that has spaces between the trackers, the clumps reappear, even though all of the trackers have spaces between them. Anyone experience other than me? If so, do you know if there is a solution or if there is a process that can be used to force a space between each tracker in the trackerlist? Sorry about the long-winded post, but it has come to a point that it takes a long time to place spaces manually between each tracker in the trackerlist and wanted to know if there is a sure way of having the spaces between the trackerlist when adding trackers to the torrent. Thanks for your help.

      That’s happening because there are duplicate trackers in this list (plus you might ALREADY be using trackers that were also included in this list). It doesn’t matter, the torrent technically sees any duplicates as one connection anyway.

      Back when I used uTorrent I experienced that problem and solved it by pasting the list in Notepad on Win or TextEdit on MacOS and manually repaired the list in the text editor first then copied that list from the text editor into uTorrent which removed any odd web line return code ie, for example that might have made the list returns (spaces/line spaces, etc.) as some of you are calling them) act differently and clumping together.
      PS, after switching to qBittorrent I never have those problems anymore. I paste the list into the box you find in “Tools Menu” > “Options” > “BitTorrent Button” on left and then in the right near the bottom of the window area you will see a box that is titled “Automatically add these Trackers to downloads” and check the check box on the left end of title for that box. Voila, it automatically adds these trackers to all new torrents! I used to be able to do something similar in uTorrent but do not remember how to do it anymore. It wasn’t hard though! Hope this helps.

      ** Definitely helps with some torrents and improves speed a bit and is well worth adding these!

      The maximum download speed obtainable is whatever you pay your ISP provider for. You can’t compare that to other people. I can max out at 10 megabytes a second. That’s because I pay my ISP for a plan that gives me an 80/80 Mbps speed. That doesn’t mean you can too. If you pay for a speed of 1 megabytes a second (8/8 Mbps) then that’s the fastest you’ll ever achieve.

    I need help: I really don’t know how to have a VPN in my connection to prevent problems with the connection being tracked.     for those who are new to bittorrent or just wasn’t curious about how it works (until now you’re being told this makes faster downloads)

    most clients have a way to add trackers to torrents. usually an “Add Tracker” choice is offered (my client a right click in tracker list tab gives half a dozen options including Add Tracker) just look for it.
    also, editing tracker list is a possibility…

    when i was able to edit tracker list client needed space between trackers to use them simultaneously … groups of trackers without blank lines were treated as groups where only first active link would be used (multiple available but all talk to each other so no advantage except when one goes down will try next,)

    unfortunately when i paste this list the blanks disappear 🙁 so my client skips broken links but stops trying first active it finds…

    Teclas: Windows+r e Coloca Notepad (bloco de notas)
    CTRL+H
    no “Localizar” você coloca um espaço
    no “Substituir Por” deixe em branco

    We just want to:

    2. COPY
    3. PASTE
    why do I have to scroll down, select a place to start copying, scroll down press shift, then select end point, then right click and copy…

    can’t you make a single copy button at the top

    or

    place the trackers in an iFrame at the top of the page to CTRL+A, CTRL+C

    Any way to see which ones are new trackers, and on what date they where added?
    My client tends to remove the spaces so adding to long list can be a hassle, it’d be easier to add new trackers manually.
